Monica Garcia might be gone, but the reality that’s von-teased in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s new trailer promises to be even more divisive.
In fact, for the returning cast—including Heather Gay, Mary Cosby, Lisa Barlow, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose, as well new housewife Bronwyn Newport—season five of the Bravo series will see longtime friendships and loyalties crumbling down, as seen in the trailer’s opening voiceover sequence.
“Never in a million years,” Heather says to an unnamed cast member, while images of Salt Lake City play, “after everything we’ve been through, did I think that you would reach out to our sworn enemy.”
Followed by Whitney’s addition of, “I sought out proof and I was given the proof.”
And while Meredith says she’s “disgusted” over learning someone has been recording conversations, Mary adds, “You’re the biggest liar in Utah, you big fake.”
She’s followed by Lisa claiming, “You’re lying about me,” while another questions, through tears, “We were friends, how could you do this to me?”
And from the following sequences in the sneak peek, amid the usual lavish meals and extravagant getaways, it looks like these pairings—all women who have traditionally had good relationships with the other—will each suffer a falling out this season.
Perhaps, the introduction of Bronwyn will play a role. While Lisa tells cameras the new Housewife is “everything you could want in a friend,” Heather adds in a confessional, “Bronwyn is not here to make friends, and I don’t trust her.”
And tensions only rise from there, beginning with drama between Angie and Lisa after Angie seems to question some of her friend’s parenting choices—which Lisa calls a “low blow”— leading to an explosive tableside fight with Angie telling Lisa, “You have been a f--king bitch to me.”
Another formerly thick-as-thieves pairing that appears to be at risk this season? Mary and Meredith, with the latter telling the former in a heated exchanged, “You used me for three years, yeah I got the memo.”
The exchange is followed by a subsequent scene in which Mary angrily kicks Meredith out of her house during a party, telling her, “You’re a sneaky, snarky little something.”
And from the looks of the rest of the trailer, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
But don’t take our word for it: watch the gripping season five trailer below...
And don't miss the premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five September 18.
