Do you see Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning and Paris Hilton hanging out anywhere? News flash. You’re gonna.
After all, the Uptown Girls alum recently gushed about her budding friendship with the heiress at the 2024 Emmys, thanks to the Fanning sisters working on a television adaptation of Paris: The Memoir. (See every star’s arrival on the Emmys red carpet here).
“We have gotten to know Paris and we’ve become friends with her and are going to be apart of telling her story,” Dakota exclusively explained to Laverne Cox on Live From E!: Emmys. “I think if you told us as little girls that we would meet Paris Hilton and go to her house and see her little dogs and become friends with her, and also know the real her, we would have died.”
And Dakota—who bought the rights to Paris’ memoir last year—noted that the experience has already been a “dream come true,” on the 76th Emmys red carpet, despite the project being in early development.
As she added of she and her sister working with The Simple Life star, “We’re having pinch me moments all the time.”
Dakota has been making plenty of dreams a reality lately. Indeed, the 30-year-old earned her first Emmy award nomination for her performance alongside Andrew Scott in Netflix’s Ripley, which saw her play Marge Sherwood.
The Charlotte’s Web actress shares the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category with Lily Gladstone (Under the Bridge), Jessica Gunning, Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer), Aja Naomi King (Lessons in Chemistry), Diane Lane (Feud: Capote vs. Swans) and Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country).
And while no actress would turn down the win, Dakota also assured that she was “proud” to simply be a part of The Talented Mr. Ripley adaptation. (See every Emmy winner so far here).
“It’s been such an incredible journey,” she added to E!. “Filming in Italy, took quite a bit of time, and I do feel very transformed by it. It was very challenging for many reasons but super fulfilling.”
